An increasing number of people are battling obesity – which is now recognized as a disease state. It has been estimated that nearly 60% of US adults and 13% of children and adolescents can be classified as either overweight or obese. Increased fatigue, muscle and joint pains often accompany the disorder. Furthermore, obesity impacts a number of health problems such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. Excess weight can increase one’s risk for developing certain types of cancer such as breast and ovarian in females and prostate as well as colon cancer in males. The solution for the problem is not an easy one.
Through particularized assessment, we can help you reach a healthy weight and nutritional state. Weight loss is a result of decreasing the amount of calories the body takes in, and/or increasing physical activity. Different approaches exist, pharmacalogical assistance or sensory/nutritional perception may be used. Truly, your weight is by design.
